One of my absolutely favourite things about the Fortuna Deluxe, it's that it was designed - among other things – to heal the wounds that a bad experience of money may have left in you; that is what I call a Money Wounds. In this newsletter, I am going to talk about them.
Money Wounds may come from having ancestors, at any level (that is, family ancestors + race ancestors + cultural ancestors) who have gone through extreme poverty, emigration, slavery, war, or any similar situation which has caused a great deal of prolonged stress.
The wound here is that money is inherently related to great pain, to torture, to death, to separation from family. This trauma may be something you have inherited at a cellular level; it's not joke at all.
Money Wounds can also come from times in your life when you were not as wise as you are now, and made bad choices about money, which lead to some kind of loss or debt. If you are in recovery from addiction, long-term mental or physical illness, incarceration, or any situation where you have lost control of your ability to make good choices for yourself, this applies to you as well.
The wound here is that the regret and shame you still feel today may be constantly blocking your way. You need to understand and apply forgiveness at a completely new level in order to overcome it.
Another Money Wound that affect us all is the Monkey's Paw Wound – how many times have we heard the story of someone who won the lottery, or inherited a fortune, just to end in poverty because they gambled it /drank it away, or were robbed and even killed for that money?
That kind of cautionary tale is a true poison in your thoughts about money, making you FEAR abundance; that Money Wound tells you that being abundant equals paying a very high price, sometimes a fatal one.
And finally, there's the “money is the root of all evil” Money Wound. It's time to end that story as well, because it's not money, it's specific people and specific choices which are rotten. This is not about money at all, it's about choices, and about ignoring the fact that this world is filled with amazing people who do amazing things with their money – we just don't hear about them as often, or as much as we hear about the evil ones.
This Money Wound is about money having a power that it has not, and that's the power to change you. Also, it is about projecting blame onto money, when it's people who are corrupt, and money is just the tool they use. Money amplifies, and allows, but if you are a decent person, money will not make you into a villain. As long as you understand that you are the only person accountable for your choices, money has no inherent power, for good or bad.
